My friends, neighbors, and residents of Single Member District 1,

Today, I am proud and excited to officially announce that I am running for re-election as your City Councilman for Single Member District 1 in the City of Bryan.

Serving the people of District 1 over the past four years has been one of the greatest honors of my life.  I am grateful for the trust you place in me, and I remain committed to serving our community with integrity, transparency, and focus on results.

When I first ran for office, I promised to focus on three priorities that I believed mattered most to our community: improving our infrastructure, enhancing public safety, and protecting the quality of life that makes our neighborhoods a wonderful place to live.

Today, I am proud of what we have accomplished together.

Over the past four years, District 1 has seen more than $50 million in infrastructure improvements, with additional projects planned through 2030. These investments mean better streets, improved drainage, upgraded utilities, and a stronger foundation for future growth. These accomplishments did not happen by chance, nor were they achieved by one person alone.  They are the result of building strong, respectful relationships with my fellow City Council Members and our Mayor.  By working together, listening to one another, and keeping the needs of our residents at the forefront, we have been able to secure meaningful investments for District 1 and the City of Bryan.  I firmly believe that collaboration, not division, is how lasting progress is made, and I will continue to work with anyone who shares the same goal of making our community even better.

We have also worked to make our neighborhoods safer.  By addressing speeding concerns, improving traffic signage, advocating for better street lighting, and listening to residents’ concerns, we have taken meaningful steps to improve safety for everyone who lives, works, and visits our district and City.

At the same time, we have continued to enhance the quality of life in our community by supporting cleaner neighborhoods, encouraging responsible growth, and helping create a more connected and welcoming place for families, businesses, and future generations.

While I am proud of what we have achieved, I know our work is not done. There are still roads to improve, neighborhoods to strengthen, and opportunities to create. The progress we’ve made has built momentum and now is not the time to slow down.

If re-elected, I will continue fighting for the priorities that matter most:

• Investing in critical infrastructure.

• Keeping our neighborhoods safe.

• Supporting responsible growth.

• Improving the quality of life for every resident.

• Continuing to build partnerships with the Mayor, City Council, City Staff, and our residents to deliver results.

Serving this community has been one of the greatest honors of my life.  I have always believed that the best decisions are made by listening to the people I represent, working together, and putting our community first.

I respectfully ask for your vote on November 3rd and your continued support so that together, we can continue building a stronger District 1 and a stronger City of Bryan.

Thank you for your trust, your encouragement, and the opportunity to serve.  I look forward to earning your support once again and continuing the work we have started together.

Together, we’ve accomplished a great deal. Together, we’ll accomplish even more.

Paul Torres Headshot

Sincerely,

Paul Torres

Councilman, Single Member District 1

City of Bryan
